12/19/03 There was once an American TV knockoff of the British television series Upstairs, Downstairs, the essence of which was the absolute integrity of every character. In the American version, Upstairs was a gangster family. Lasted about two weeks. Of all the talk of rebuilding contracts for Iraq, has one ever heard even once, of any Iraqi company getting a single contract. Apparently contracts for Iraq are for everyone except Iraqis. But hey - what do the Iraqis matter? Apparently they are simply two bit play actors for the great American super hero action drama. Used to think it was the height of stupidity to cast the American version of Upstairs, Downstairs as gangsters. But of course now in
retrospect it appears that is was probably a totally appropriate and fitting characterization.
12/17/03 Then there is that species
of male ornithologist that colors theory in male ego, specifically that male birds are brightly colored while females are dull, so as males attract females through some elaborate song and dance mating ritual - all very romantic. A more likely theory is that the female while sitting on the nest is very well camouflaged, while the male easily seen with bright colors can divert predators away from the nesting and vulnerable female with offspring.
12/15/03 The 'bubble boy' Bush may
be the most hated man in the world if not yet approaching the heights of people like Stalin and Hitler. He needs an army division to guard him everywhere he goes. Fortress America now has concrete barriers, surveillance cameras, security check points at many if not most government buildings, pretty much resembling the old communist East Germany. Does the average person anywhere in the world need body guards, and to live in a fortress? Who needs body guards and fortresses but gangsters and all out of proportion rich people. Would seem America fits both bills.
12/12/03 Reagan on the dime, hell
lets just fit all Americas coins with the portraits of
gangsters - Al Capone on the penny, Sam Trafficante on the nickel, Carlos Marcello on the quarter, Sam Gicanca on the 50 cent piece and the really big criminals on the folding money. The Reagan administration with 26 felony convictions, may have had many more if not for the concept of classified documents. Bush One pardons 7. 14 convicted for illegal lobbying. There were the secret illegal wars, lying to congress, racketeering, gun and drug smuggling, the largest deficit in history up to that time, to be dwarfed by this present administration - a reincarnation of the same gang - the Savings and Loan half trillion swindle at least - 16 convictions, and the aids inaction. Since money represents the root of all evil maybe
it is just as well Reagan gets a coin.
12/10/03 People in the US are surprised by the antics of Ashcroft and the new security state. It is nothing new and has always been that way. The country is run and has always been by profiteers, capitalists and gangsters. One of the reasons that there is very little organized opposition to them is that the FBI and others has always been used to subvert leftist organizations. If in America you join the Democratic Party you will go on an FBI watch list kept somewhere. If you are a non-violent US radical, is the US government watching you? Yes they are. Are you in danger of harassment or imprisonment? If you are living in a true democracy there is no problem. If you have a problem, then you are living in a Nazi like state. Would one do what one is doing now against the Nazis, or would one bury oneself in the mass delusion of American commercialism?
12/08/03 Kinda get tired of those who express the opinion that they don't understand why the media doesn't report or comment on this, that, or the other. HELLO - the US capitalist media is totally and completely controlled - controlled - controlled, and always has been. Must be a black
list of forbidden subjects and personalities the size of a telephone book. The only leftists allowed on the media are those selling a books where publishers profits trump ideology. Sort of can't blame them really, the US of A is so corrupt, absurd, deranged, bizarre and boffo, that even if the truth were more important than the money they make, the population
would become so demoralized that it might become ungovernable.
12/05/03 With the endless talk about Iraq, the bottom line for this US administration, and what does and will explain all actions taken there is just two things: the military bases and the oil. The military bases will be used to control the flow of oil for the whole of the middle east and west Asia, for Iraq's oil itself, and to protect and aid Israel. The great paradox and root of all lying, double dealing and back stabbing relative to this Gordian Knot, is how to create a government in Iraq that seems democratic, and that the Iraqis will be satisfied with, while still maintaining these two overarching goals. They could have had elections three
months ago, or next month or the month after. Instead so far something over 400 US soldiers have died preventing democratic elections.
12/03/03 Mark Twain spent at least several beautiful days on Lake Tahoe, around the years
1863, '64 - drifting in a boat on its surface with a companion, the water so clear they could hardly distinguish between lake and air. In the evening of their final day, while attempting to make dinner they started a forest fire, of which while horrified at what they had done, they watched the beauty of it for hours in the night, as the fire lines swept across the mountains, over one and up the next. Then in attempting to leave in their boat, they encountered a storm so fierce they were nearly drowned. Perhaps it is interesting to note that for all the genius of Mark Twain, he did not seem to make any connection between the two events.
12/01/03 Maybe it wasn't so obvious when the US Republican Party was the minority, but now that they can do whatever they want, it has become very clear that this party is an organized criminal gang. When states pass
laws against criminal activity, that are stricter than the federal government, then these 'states rights gang lords' are now in the habit rescinding those laws by federal override. This is not some small element of the party, that is in the US congresses, but a majority necessary to get these things passed. It has not been the federal government oversight that has discovered the massive fraud in the stock and bond markets and corporate board rooms. It has been states attorneys. Well by god they are going to put a stop to that. You betcha. Not that it matters since no one goes to jail anyway. But it looks bad.
11/28/03 Drug addicted public policy pushers, censoring first amendment believers, criminality apologists, fascist democrats, states rights federal interveners, how do they justify their incredible hyperbolic hypocrisy? Can only be that it is math genius - they divide reality in two, good and evil, the good regime for themselves, as the enlightened and entitled elite, and the other for the unenlightened, common and even evil rest, that have to be told and forced to do what is 'right'. Like those formula action rampage movies of the likes of Schwarzenegger and Seagal - a perfect example of the ethic of Republicans - the bad guys, so evil that any form of blood, gore and carnage used against them is justified; which is what they wanted to do anyway, they just needed some bad guys. 'Course when it comes to the real thing, they get someone else to do it for them, and then take all the credit.
11/26/03 Seems the Americans have
been doing a lot of consulting with the Israelis, about how
to combat what Bush calls 'terrorism' in Iraq. One thing they seem to be learning already is to use the term 'terrorist', to describe anybody on the other side of the political spectrum, as the term anti-semite has been used by Israel supporters,
for the past 50 years now. Suppose what they need to learn
in reference to Iraq is how to break international law, since
the US has had their many moments - mostly covert - but they
do not have fifty years of practice the way Israel does, i.e. collective punishment, unlawful detentions, mass curfews, destruction of property, confiscation of land and property, pre-emptive execution etc.
11/24/03 In defense of Salieri, reference the movie Amadeus, the life-story of Amadeus Wolfgang Mozart, while Mozart the genius composer, who created musical masterpieces, moved in high society, and even if he suffered from the inability to turn off the frequency of genius; it could be said that he really did not apparently do much composing himself, but rather for him, it was like listening
to the radio, or what is called the higher realms of the muse, and just copied down what he heard. Whereas Salieri, not having access to the ephemeral realms of higher creativity, could be said to at least, have written his compositions himself, that is the material self and ego, that most are stuck with on the physical plane.
11/21/03 Republican Reagan set all time records for debt, and they blamed the tax and spend Dems. Baby Bush said, "Hell I can beat that" - and will have racked up debt in 4 years - what would have taken Reagan 20. And then came Schwarzenegger. "Debt", he said - "I have over 500 movie screen kills. Debt - I can beat that". And in 10 minutes as governor of California he creates 4 billion in new debt, by suspending the increased car registration tax, setting an all time worlds' debt creation record. Max action. What a showman. But he can do better yet, and wants to borrow the shortfall, by floating a bond measure so the tax payers will not only have to repay the 4 billion, but an added one to two billion in interest. Now that's 'termination. If the US is the most corrupt country in the history of the world, it is because its citizens are such saps and suckers.
11/19/03 Now there's a confidence builder. Install a convicted criminal to head the Iraqi governing council. Let's just install Ken Lay president of the United States. He says he is innocent. 'A Jordanian court tried Ahmad Chalabi in absentia in 1992 and convicted him of fraud and embezzlement, sentencing him to 22 years' hard labor for gross irregularities at the Bank of Petra -- which Chalabi founded and ran during a long residence in the country -- involving the siphoning of millions of dollars of depositors' money to Chalabi's offshore accounts.' Chalabi contends he is innocent. The impression is that the US promotes and defends freedom around the world. This is true; freedom for gangsters, thugs and dictators to pillage their own peoples in America's interest, as the record amply demonstrates. If gangsters are appointed by the White House, does that mean that those making the appointments are also gangsters?
11/17/03 Who can know the true
state of the US economy - Christmas is coming? The job of
the establishment - (they do it every year), from government economic experts, wall street, to primarily the capitalist media, from Halloween to Christmas - is to pump the perception of the shopping population, that all is rosy, bright and groovy, not a care in the world, and get out and 'shop to you drop', as the saying goes. Much attention will be paid to the state of merchant commerce and how good will the season be,
as a story to legitimize this push for sales. But then even after Christmas, the economy must appear good, for the election year coming up next fall. So it shouldn't be, until maybe around March of 2005, that we come to find out the true state
of the American economy.
