Some of the classes I can remember taking were religion, history, group dynamics, classical music, philosophy, film and for some reason I took some acting classes, body movement and speech. As a result of this last, I went to a number of college plays which I did enjoy. I became a mass media major year two. I started getting really good grades and was on the honor list most of the second year. I had a number of good teachers.

My American history professor was my favorite. He gave fantastic lectures. He began the first day by telling the class that he had a tendency to swear in his lectures, and that he taught a version of history that they might never have heard before. He said if any of you are overly sensitive, you should leave the class now. I don't want to get any irate parents phoning me during dinner. His lectures were spell binding. He would talk for awhile in very low tones and then raise the volume to a crescendo and might finish with a flourish of swear and cuss works. " ... and that expletive Andrew Jackson SOB" ! wherein he would settle back down to a conversational tone and volume, only to raise his voice to a crescendo again.

In Saint Helena there was a guy in the front house for awhile with his wife. She only cooked vegetarian food; and I have to say, it was the only vegetarian food I have ever eaten, that I really really liked. It was good. He had been in the army in Hawaii loading planes, and his job was to make sure the plane loaded was evenly balanced weight wise, so that it would fly level.
