They totaled the Chevy - said the frame was bent and so that was how the Grand Prix got bought. And we had that for about a year and then I wrecked it also as was said, the only time I could not drink and drive, and on that night it was cold and Christo and I and the other driver were hungered down in our respective cars waiting for the cops to arrive, his passengers having retired into their house. No one was hurt. The cop didn't know any of us were drunk and of course in these situations waiting for the police one smokes like a chimney two or three cigs at a time to kill the smell and sink one's high rides.

The cop drove us home. The guy I hit was drunk and I was drunk and I was driving to fast and he was on the wrong side of the road and so I considered it a wash. But he had the nerve to sue me. But by the time that came about I was in Greece and a no-show. And that is how the Chevy 409 came about since insurance totaled the Pontiac as well.

Well still not bad for all the many three - four years of evening time spent in those cars twice a week. One time my newly married cousin was visiting with his wife and I was assigned to drive them from Song Lake to O'Hare Airport near Chicago. He was newly graduated from college a summa cum laude math major, who had taken a job in New York as an actuary for a big insurance company. So the problem was we had been out drinking the night before and someone had spilled a quart of beer on the back seat floor.
