But what he had was completely original never another like it, a record player that played vinyl records upside down, and which he bolted underneath the dash below the radio. But came to find out it was hard on the records since the spring holding the needle arm up against gravity depressed into the grooves more than the records could eventually withstand.

One time was a car-load in the '57 Ford on Halloween, and we went to my high school's boy's dean's house, with big six foot high shrubs on the street. Some of us got out with eggs and crept thru the hedges and across the lawn to egg the front window, when suddenly like a prison escape movie, bright lights came on and an amplified voice crackled - Stop Right Where You Are ! I ran and only one guy got an egg off, but he was older and past high school age. So we piled into the car and Jimbo lays rubber. He popped the clutch and we sat there tires spinning, screaming and smoke beginning to billow up around the car, before slowly it began to slipping a bit sideways fishtailing - accelerate out of there.

I drove Jimbo's car once with a car-load of same age kids when Jimbo wanted to sit in the back with one of the girls. I eased behind the wheel, put it in first, pulled in and down stick on the steering column, and let out the clutch. We were on pea-gravel asphalt and skidded a one-eighty Uturn and slammed it sideways into a curb facing the opposite way. Turns out I bent the passenger side rear wheel rotor. It was driveable but cost his dad some bucks.
