Velikovsky was
historic in my thinking. He came up with a theory that answered so many unanswered questions, like how did Mammoths freeze alive instantly overnight, with grass fresh-frozen still in their cud.

I obtained "World's in Collision", from the old San Francisco library probably in the 70's. Someone had written in the leaf, Darwin, Freud and now Velikovsky.

A catastrophist, Velikovsky believed Venus and Mars may have been comets, that came into the solar system from without, was the way I got it, because my thinking became planets come from sources external to solar systems and are captured by Solar gravity. Mars it seems obvious, once had oceans and was hit by a very large object, tossing it from it's orbit where-ever that might have been.

Venus Mars, a comet comes into the solar system, gets tangled up with earth, and by gravitation they begin to gravitate to collusion, but at the last minute according to Velikovsky, they reverse polarities and each tips over, such that the magnetic fields now reverse and repel each other and collision is avoided.

The day the earth stood still, in some places on the planet flipping over, the sun would stop moving, Joshua's sun standing still, and this explained the parting of the sea in the bible and the Jews fleeing Egypt as the Exodus. Thousands of volcanoes would erupt simultaneously from the stress on the earth's crust, causing smoke filled sky and darkness for forty years. Manna from heaven he surmised was condensation from the volcanic clouds that formed on the ground as life sustaining substance for any life that would eat it.

Science always portrayed humans as one step from cave man, no smarter than dogs before the modern west arrived on the scene. Enlightened science is wedded to the progressive theory of evolution, or entitlement for the evolved to steal everything not nailed down from the less evolved, for their own good.

Thor Heyerdahl contradicted the bridge theory of the first migrants thru Siberia and Alaska, but was shunned by science because it was believed people were not smart enough to build a raft let alone a boat. Ancient Chinese pottery has been found on the East Coasts of Canada and America. How did it get there ? Science is deaf and dumb on subjects such as this and sees no, hears no, asks no questions.

Velikovsky's theories were rejected out of hand. He didn't try to publish his works where he would be rejected, as the idiot Carl Sagan destroyed him and then stole Velikovsky's theory of comet caused volcano hell, and turned it into nuclear winter, to aid in his own campaign to stop nuclear war, by moron politicians and military men.

I myself would never try to publish anything in a scholarly way, because I know and have known for thirty years it would be rejected out of hand. It is said every physician living went to his grave believing the blood did not circulate, though knowing it was discovered that it did. Science is not dumb but often scientists are idiots.

The theory of modern science is Uniformitarianism. That all planetary geological change is slow, taking thousands and millions of years for what is called evolution to occur. That all people were stupid before the Renaissance, that all animals are mechanistic morons, that people are governed by genetic automatism and not intelligence.

And now science finds out crows which are descended from dynasaurs are the smartest animal and elephants have consciousness. Someone figured out that Prairie Dogs have language, and can create individual language symbol signals for different people sent through or near their colonies.

But of course capitalists who exploit animal life for profit prefer dumb as dead creatures. And progressive capitalism prefers a dumb as dirt natural world, of which they exploit with abandon with no troublesome conscience.

The modern age is progressive and progression deems the end more important than pre-progression previous states. Science cannot recognize the perfection of the natural world when it sees it, but is loaded down with and force-fed primitive progressive cultural, religious and economic bias. Nature is not progressive but a steady state of perfect equilibrium quite harsh at times, but made for the long and infinite indurance.

Worlds in Collision was the one and only book found open on Albert Einstein’s desk at the time of his death.
