If the Soul
were similar to the Ego, which is the first and primary personality, and which interprets externalities from the singular perspective and primary interest of the body, the Soul would operate from one source, or one body, one incarnation, one perspective, one point of reference.
Meanwhile Spirit could be likened to the concept of the Identities, as creations of mind, the purpose as the accomplishment of objectives, and of which any number is possible, relative to the number of objectives undertaken. Thus the Soul could then have any number of Spirits if each Spirit were an objective of Soul.
If the Identities as creations of mind are of another dimension than the physical body, or mind and memory where reality is associational imagery, perhaps the Spirit would be of a different dimensionality distinct from the dimension of Soul.
The material Identities are said to represent physical objectives in the physical world. Thus Spirits could be said to represent other dimensional objectives of the Soul.
The material Ego is mind and mental personality, that operates in the interest of the body. Thus the question would be, would the Soul have also a body distinct from an Ego of the Soul. Following the analogy, the Soul's Ego would be it's primary Spirit personality, with objectives as Identity Spirits secondary, based of necessary and chosen objectives.
If the material body is of limited duration, what would be the duration of a Soul's body ? assuming the Soul has an independent body. Various objectives may require varying body types. In such cases, it would be necessary for a habitual to inhabit various bodies for limited periods of time. The habitual would be Soul. Spirits would be habitual aides.
The Ego as body-built, in terms of reincarnations, would be an independent free agent. Thus if the Soul is already pre-existent, does the Ego gain Soul extended existence ? And would there be previous Soul extended Ego existences ?
Thus by this theory, the Soul would be called objective oriented, perhaps progressive, though progression within the infinite would seem to make no sense, for must not the infinite always be forever the same ? the source of it's infinity sameness in the sense difference would be its destruction.
What sense does the same forever make ? Limited within forever, is boundary contained of its beginning and ending, coming into and out of being, of which change is accomplished, the meaning dependent upon distinction, as comparatives between start and finish, products produced as meaningful, dependent on the conscious relationship as affect to sensory sensation.
