Considerations

The premise is
Progressives add from negatives as opposites to themselves, while Conservatives subtract from positives same as themselves; in the sense of the Metaphysical Psychology of the Progressive Evaluative System, as unconscious one to ten, negative scaled to positive. That old junker is a one while the new Maserati is a ten.

Of the scale from one to ten, one to five would be progressive adders and six to ten would be conservative subtracters. If one assesses oneself or is an assessment of two thru five on the class scale, the propensity is to by the addition of material accumulation of assets move up the scale.

If one is to add as an evaluative operation, logically this would be addition from less, or from negative to something more positive. With a promotion to chief came a move to a better neighborhood. Addition from less to make more. The less is defined in negative terms as needing addition or improvement.

Progressives then may be prone to demean and debase that which is necessary to be used and exploited for the addition to their enrichment.

It would then be suggested that Progressives add from less or negative opposites, and define themselves against what they disfavor, abhor or hate as more, better, greater. We are not like that. We are honest people.

Progressives define themselves by addition, to those considered as less, those they more or less detest, and would be better than, rather than equal to.

Of the scale from one to ten, if one is six thru ten on the class scale, the propensity is to by subtraction evaluate oneself from that higher, rather than adding from below.

When one evaluates oneself as less, this is compared to something more, or one subtracts from something greater.

Then it is said that Conservatives subtract from positive or greater than themselves, and yet hopefully what they would like to be the same as, or define themselves by what they love and emulate to be.
