The problem initially is that the mundane material self cannot predict the future with certainty, and thus cannot be certain as to what is of value in the present, in terms of a comparative evaluation in the future. Primarily in the modern day world, objectives are created for the future, and decisions in the present are made so as to correspond to those objectives, such as one buys specific kinds of insurance, or the decision is made to take courses in finance, assuming one will work in the industry in future. In this way the future can be controlled with varying degrees of success. However the assessment of future states is based on present assessment of what is of Consequence, like money is more important than family, something of which may or may not still be valued with the passing of time.

If one makes the assumption that the Metaphysical-I is an agent of the future, and is capable of symbolic indications involving one's future states, then communication of this type might certainly be desirable. In setting up a line of communication, one might create an embodiment of the Metaphysical-I, which would be a Transcendent Identity. One possesses an Ego, Secondary and possibly a Primary Identity, depending on one's age. The Transcendent Identity would be used to represent standards and practices, in which one would wish to discover, emulate and attempt to create the values, ethics or mores premised on the level of the Metaphysical-I. This Identity would be independent of the Ego, Secondary and Primary Identities because it represents a non-physical and invisible entity and thus may be created from scratch.

Thus the question would arise as to what would be the nature and concern for the self and its relationship to the Metaphysical-I. The attributes that are most often used to describe spirit by most religions are Definitive, such as compassion, love, understanding, healing, wisdom, forgiveness, etc., all of which are subscribed to by adherents abstractly and vicariously through teaching, without much if any empirical evidence.

If one considers all the ramifications of an entity such as the Metaphysical-I that might be possible, one might conclude that it could be almost anything. If one were to utilize this to maximum benefit one might want to ascribe an indeterminate value to it as described by the term Olamic Value. This would mean the Metaphysical-I could be anything the individual can imagine it to be.

If the idea would be to expand one's thought processes and consciousness, as one's sense of physical self, in correspondence to manifest possibilities of the non-physical Metaphysical-I, then the idea here would be to grant the Metaphysical-I powers of all types as a matter of definition. Two major powers might be the facility to alter the physical environment, and the power of communication through this material alteration. In this way a relationship might be formed in which the Metaphysical-I and Thinking-I interact, such that the individual elevates one's consciousness to levels only as envisioned through the creation of a Transcendent Identity which grants the existence of the Metaphysical.
