The only thing I remember after that was Jerry and family and all of us for that matter were invited to a party in the Haight that was hosted by Marko and his new gay friends. They were all in semi-drag dress with pretty wild outfits and seemed to carry attitudes of defiance. Marko did a lot posturing and the whole affair seemed to be laden pretty heavy with justification and how great his
new life-style was. Was many years before I saw Marko again. I would see what turned out to be him in the Mission now and then, always with a bike. But I avoided the certainty, and more or less assumed it was not him. I later learned he had become a male nurse. And as far as I know he is still gay living with someone I have never seen. I met him for real twice in Safeway in much later years. Think he tried to apologize the first time but I ignored it and changed the subject. Always interesting seeing people years later. There is often a bit of an air of embarrassment for the way they had been, way back when they were young.
