I think it was a theme along the lines of the co-option scenario. I was serving a greater good and shouldn't mind. Didn't realize at the time but perhaps Marko taught me the underpinnings of all progressive human history.

At some point Marko and SusieQ, we always spoke of them in that order, decided to go to South America. It was mutually agreed upon by everyone that Jan, Jerry and the five kids should get their house. Jerry and family were living the other side of the hill, a couple of blocks up from Courtland, and not far from the Hell's Angel house on Anderson Street. After the year in El Segundo, they came back to the city and rented an apartment in a two unit two story. There was an interesting tidbit there. There were two woman living in the other unit. Jerry's family had a dinner and the two woman were invited. Jerry began flirting with one of the woman at the dinner table and somehow, guess they were doing some drinking, they ended up under the table rolling around in full erotic embrace.

There were apparently some other suitors for the house on Elsie Street who offered the landlord double the rent. But it was Jerry and Jan that the house went, and they moved in on Marko and SusieQ's departure. Not sure of the circumstances of Marko and SusieQ after they returned from South America. Can't remember anything of them at that time. Not even sure if SusieQ came back to the shop in any capacity, but I think she came in now and then and may have even continued the kids program in the summer. Except that it came to pass via the rumor mill that Marko left SusieQ for a man. Marko had turned gay.
