Of course the western world is big on human equality by word but never by deed, wherein there is no social equality in Capitalism. How much does one earn ? How much does one own ? By worth who does one know ? The acquirement of private assets is by degree of capital possessed. The class system is primarily economic as to what kind of awareness one can afford, and thus Consequence and awareness would be a matter of money and how it is acquired.
Equality is only found in government, the services of which are to be rendered by first-come first-serve and without otherwise discrimination.
Of course the upper classes love the class system while the lower classes hate it until and if they become upper class. The Japanese traditionally kept class for the most-part indoors, where the exterior of most buildings and externalities were generic, and that which was of varying and distinctive class was kept indoors, out of sight and out back.
Socialism by definition should encourage equality, or an attitude of-that all is equal to the Whole, no matter what Part any given person plays. The fact is, different people have different talents and everybody cannot do everything or even a small part of it. But still the Whole needs the small and mundane as well as the big and sophisticated. If some Part is needed by the Whole, that Part should be considered equal to all other Parts by its necessity. As for pay scale it should take what-takes to get a competent job done. Theoretically if a person does a job for the Government, rather than wages one would get a membership card good for all necessities and services free.
