An external technique
for the discovery of self unconscious mechanisms, is the method termed the Watcher, a technique of watching oneself, as if one were watching another person.

The Internal Technique is an intellectual method of self-analysis, based primarily on premises which are derived from past experience, abstractly of memory from the individual's past experience, and from other persons in the form of verbal communication, books and movies.

The external technique is the transformation of the process of analysis, into the field of activity and behavior, as the actions of the individual in everyday reality.

Concepts of analysis are held in Premise Suspension, until these abstract conclusions that are reached of Internal Analysis, are tested as actuality in the real external world.

Transitive Concepts are Suspended Premises, representing context in which to observe external reality, so that when situations and events occur, that support or refute these concepts, the individual can recognize them in happen-stance as they occur, events that would otherwise have no significance or importance.

While internal self-analysis can be a rectifier of the mind, much unconscious conditioning has become locked into the mind and body's automatic processes of thinking and doing, such that it can only be discovered through observation in the actuality of its external manifestations, as specific situations and circumstances, or as the Watcher. He exhibited a facial tick every-time he mentioned her name.

To see oneself as others do, and to detect and discover unconscious conditioned thinking and behavior. One of the primary techniques for the discovery of unconscious mechanisms is the method termed the Watcher, or the technique of watching as if from outside oneself. This is to see oneself as others do, and to detect and discover unconscious behavior. She rubbed her nose at the mention of spicy chillies, what she did not realize she had been doing. Better dead than red always came to mind, when he heard the name of Russia or communism, un-noticing the habit.

The concept of the Watcher employs the further technique of what is called Self-Remembrance, in which the individual is to remember to remember to watch oneself, which may be difficult to do in the beginning, especially when caught up in habitual patterns of behavior, in a hurry, in stressful circumstances or in the company of others.

However this watching should not become compulsive, as a time-all activity, since it can lead to hyperactive thought processes and self-consciousness. It should be used like exercise, better reserved for specific times when it seems appropriate to do so.

By watching oneself, one may notice the use of such as body movements, language, thought and speech patterns. First one notices or notes the trait. Then one may analyse the use of the trait, the origin and purposes of how one began using it, although this is not necessary, and whether it is suitable to one's present purposes or changed identity.

The object is not necessarily to eliminate discovered traits, but to become conscious of the existence, and thus a choice as to whether one wishes to continue or discontinue its practice, or create the ability to make a spontaneous choice in the actual circumstance.

Unconscious patterns of behavior are conditioned over time, and represent various aspects of the personality of the individual. When a person seeks to alter elements and patterns of behavior, the changes will be based and conform to different ideas and models, of what new personality traits should be like.

The concept of the Watcher is the conception of alternative traits and personalities. But the individual will possess the propensity to watch oneself from the perspective in which one is most familiar.

One can only model the choice for self-evaluation upon character traits that one is familiar with. The Watcher may then be limited in what can be observed, and the assessments that can be made, by the limitations of the individual's consciousness of varying perspectives and personalities. The American may no nothing of European cultural personality.

Another aspect of the concept Watcher is the symbolic creation of Watcher identities, that are characters synthesized into universal roles, that are perhaps more relevant to Transcendental Analysis. These roles are such things as the king and queen, cleric, soldier, lawyer, doctor, revolutionary, mystic, inventor, artist, merchant , spy or beggar. Each of these roles contain a different perspective in which the individual operates and regards the world of reality.

Decisions are made based upon the dynamics of the function, that these perspectives and personalities as they are perceived, would be used to operate in the world. The individual can play these roles symbolically, or can surreptitiously place others in these roles, in order to observe and watch oneself in the context of each role play, and or as interaction with others of varying perspectives.
