Considerations

In modern times
the individual is inculcated into the Progressive Materialist paradigm and Mundane Consciousness. Progressive Materialism relies for its determination, or that which determines what something is and thus how it should or can be treated, on Finite Determination, wherein the results and products of change, explain the reason, purpose, value, consequence and meaning, of any state or entity, quality or condition.

Thus the post hole defines the shovel or the vegetables define the garden. From this perspective, the resulting evaluative determinatives are termed Definitive Value, which means that any phenomenon, entity or event is identified and defined in terms of relationships to results & products, as contributive resource, vehicles for, or actual qualities & conditions. Thus the rock is defined as building material or the river is hydro-electricity generation.

Finite Determination and Definitive Value, which relegates any given element, state and entity to singular and specific definition and value, means that all such entities ascribed are essentially dead.

An entity that is only one thing can only be that thing, cannot be other than what it is defined to be, meaning no choice and no intelligence. From this perspective the universe and natural world is essentially dead and merely material. Human intelligence is alone in a material world which is a machine. This is the mind-set of Progressive Materialism.

On the other hand, the concept of Existent Determination defines reality as already perfect, considering the condition of a rock floating in space. The fundamental premise of Existent Determination is that physical reality, outside the human sensory system is alive, intelligent and capable of communication.

In contrast to Definitive Value, the concept of Olamic Value has it that anything can be anything, that the individual defines it to be in any given time and place, and any given state or entity may assume any number of identities, definitions and contexts, relative to circumstance and the perspective of the individual as free will.

Indigenous spirituality assumes any living thing is capable of communication to include sequential non-living events and circumstances and is called Semiotic Language, manifested as non-verbal signs, events, circumstances, as symbolic communication.

Symbolic rational is based on perception of the reality of the world in terms of symbols. The primary premise is that anything can be symbolic and can be communication, and that all facets of reality can exhibit language by the interpretation of symbols.

In the world of Definitive Value, everything has pre-defined definition and meaning by conditioning, if nothing else, but this is a necessary convenience and commonality of communication, in developed social cultures.

A tree is always a tree, even if it is in an impossible context, as Stone Tree – The Desert of Salvador Dali. Definition and meaning proceed context. A fish is always a fish even in the context of mounted on a wall.

Olamic Value would mean that any given quality, condition or entity, is given a value of Null, is open, is symbolic, and can take on any significance the individual gives it in any place and time. The wall mounted fish is a lucky totem.

Create a context for interpretation called Interpretive Context and go out into the world where happen-stance may assume the context. Thus one can create any number of contexts in which to interpret reality. If one asks a question one may look for an answer in a book or on the internet. However one could also or rather, look for answers in Reality Reading. Thus any question or statement may become Context Creation, or Interpretive Context for the question, and reality becomes symbolic of the answer.

I once asked the question, can spirit kill me and I didn't believe it, and found myself an hour later on a bridge with a flat tire, a dead battery, no spare and no side or pull off lane. Well someone could have gotten killed.

To be involved in a problem, a question or statement as Interpretive Context, like I was saying before he ran off, to get caught behind the wall in East Berlin, is the capacity of complete knowledge and consequence, that one cannot gain abstractly. Held for a short time but not arrested, is not the complete package, but close enough for the philosopher.

One walks around in reality, places, people, stuff going on. Things happen, assuming one carries Interpretive Context, some things may happen that may be analogous a contextual philosophical problem. If it happens, is it co-incidence ? Some would call it synchronicity.
