Population

In the context of population control, the philosophy of Progressive Materialism requires the accumulation of intellectual and material assets as the creation of value and consequence which gives to the individual meaning, reason, and purpose for activity and behavior. When all natural elements are reduced to the value of material resource, then human procreation can increase unabated, in that it has no compunction against taking whatever it needs until the point of complete environmental collapse.

What are the possibilities of human population controls when natural External means are eliminated and wherein if any Proto-religious people existed, they were negated for the expropriation of their lands. The retardation of population growth will not come from organized religions which are nearly all materialist. Most western religions at least, are humanist which means that humankind and the spiritual world are considered to be on separate planes, and distinct from nature by its ability to progress away from what is natural, which gives it an elite and superior status. Thus birth control may not be considered appropriate for this superior being and the environment is merely resource for the elevation of the human soul. The well being of the human existence may always take precedence over nature.

Individuals cannot be expected to engage in population control and are concerned with their own individual lives and not the overall affects of planetary population. From individual, cultural, political or religious thinking and concern, certain concepts are prevalent in different parts of the globe which contribute to population pressures:

Individual family economic dependencies to such things as land or certain kinds of trade and business may be considered to require large families for the economic well being.

The institution of the line of family succession through the male which requires the number of children necessary to produce a male and the possibly of back ups as well.
