Many months later, after Joinagain had been promoted up to the mountain we all found out who it was. It was one guy, the one suspected. Apparently he had taken the Jeep to Piraeus, picked up some prostitutes, got drunk, and on his way back drove off the road and flipped the Jeep. But of course no one said anything to the higher ups. I myself did that. I was driving a jeep up the mountain and lost concentration. It was an interesting stretch of two lane gray black-top. What was interesting and it was wide open spaces big and small rocks, dry scrub, stingy short stumped trees, was that it appeared one was driving downhill when actually one was going up hill very gradually. I drove right off the road down into a gully. Could have easily flipped it but I kept on going steering back up the hill and back onto the road.
Specialist 4 Moreover had to be punished of course for sleeping on duty. He was made to stay on post and couldn't go home to his wife for a period of time. Court Marshal was never really considered. Demotion was much discussed but it was said he had a wife to support and rent to pay and maybe a baby on the way. So in the end he was made to sleep on base and not with his wife for two weeks.
