Considerations

Personally
I am both Conservative and Progressive. As is customary, my Ego is Conservative and my Identities are Progressive. However my progressive propensities are internal concerning concepts of mind, while my externalities are Conservative meaning a simple non-profit life style, objectives as maintaining a minimalist standard of living.

The Ego is my one body mental I, and the Identities are objective seeking personifications. The body is naturally Conservative since it is quite finite, subject to harm and destruction from such a variety of causes. Since the Ego thinks for what is limited to concerns of the body, the Ego is naturally Conservative.

Identities as personified promulgation of objectives, are considered as inherently Progressive as to produce needs and desires beyond the simple necessities. However objectives do not necessarily have to be Progressive. It can be an objective to be Conservative.

The problem with Conservatives is a ceiling on intelligence and a superficial understanding of the predilections of others. Prohibitions disallow personal experience and thus first-hand understanding and empathy for what others find as desirable. Prohibitives are a conservative stricture and yet they cause so much crime.

Alcohol prohibition empowered the Mafia. Drug prohibitions empowers drug gangs as powerful as governments. Just say no - the simpleton solution. No to sex, no to drugs, no to alcohol, no to nicotine, no to body, no to mind, no to life.

Religion is perhaps the greatest of the prohibitors and it could be said generate as much crime as the criminals themselves. This as fact demonstrates the complete absence of compassion for people who harm no one but themselves so called victimless crimes.

Prohibitives as economic supply and demand, where the demand is great and the supply is little, produces high prices that will justify the crime for someone.

My rule was to engage prohibitives at least once to understand the dynamics of what others think are of such a wonderment, and thus to understand the point of view of prohibitive miscreants.

The problem with Progressives is the progressive system of a code of conduct called morality, which employs no absolute prohibitions, thus allowing free exercise of economic development and wealth.

Because the absence of prohibitives leads to anarchy and chaos, an evaluative system is employed which defines how any given entity may be treated based on a scale between worthless, evil, inconsequential, prohibitives and precious, virtuous, idolized or esteemed. Thus for those of the bottom of the scale, prohibitives may be waved as an overall good for humanity. To be made productive, the land is stolen from Indigenous people who are made the slaves of God.

Personally I employ prohibitions or at least until they become no longer practical. When in Rome do as the Romans do. One would not want to exhibit one's honesty in a den of thieves. My primary means of prohibition was and is a lack of money to purchase what is prohibitive. Or out of ten thousand items in a store, I can afford but a half dozen. Very prohibitive.
