Of the first wheels I slotted a 1 inch thick rectangle of fir plywood about twelve inches in height into the rear up-rights attached with four screws on either side for side to side stability as it was with the wheels I was replacing. This I soon replaced with two 2x4s slotted in an X shape, and bolted them on top and below just above the step rail.

For stability, the front up-rights where the top bearing was bolted was the problem. At first I used a simple 2x4 cross piece between the second from the front vertical up-rights thinking the work table and the same 1x12 rectangle of fir I had used in the rear would secure it. But this did not work. So I had to design an elaborate brace.
