While in terms of the environment, the Democratic party may be better than the
the Republican, if neither is good enough for the true environmentalist, it would seem that the Green Party is the only refuge. However a look at the platform shows that most of it is dedicated to a
Left Wing and Socialist agenda to
the left of the Democratic Party, that for a liberal may be a great thing. However one must wonder whether this is truly an environmental party or has it been hijacked by progressives who will increasingly steer it toward a broader based popularity that compromises its environmental integrity. Never has there been a political constitution constituted such that it considers or is based upon the natural environment save for instances found in some indigenous cultures. Nature is Conservative meaning
that it is finite, limited and will not expand with the ever increasing human population and the demand for ever increasing standards of living, and where
the well-being of humans must come first and demand ever increasing material resources. A truly environmental party might take the conditions and dynamics
of the natural planetary ecology as a model and authority for innovations concerning political systems, the first premise of which must be universal birth control. However one cannot expect to find many really true environmentalists when push comes to shove and personal liberties such as the regulation of the size of the family is evident. At any rate one may as well vote self-respect and integrity even though there may be little chance of introducing any change, and an environmental party that is shut out of the political mainstream in any event, may as well be a truly ecological party with integrity rather than a compromised version of parties already extant.
