Who did the chiropractor treat ? A number of people at the cafe used chiropractors although not this one. One woman he was treating, her husband had continually thrown her against a wall - beating her up. He found that disgusting. He had blond or yellowy wavy hair and a broad pasty face with heavy light eyebrows. He was a sweater man and educated. I think he drove an older model car like Glen turned out to be remembered John.

I bought a car from a guy down in the Excelsior District, He had been a painter and fell off a ladder and was in full extra-strength aspirin use continuous all and every day. I said why don't you go to a chiropractor ? No he would never do that though he had never been to one. Chiropractors at one time, had a bad reputation but whether American Medical Association propaganda I don't know.

And there was another dimension to the John of the radio ear buds. I bought a pair myself and wound up with ringing ears from playing them too loud. But who ever heard of ringing ears in the eighties.

Another job I got out of the Cafe, was working for the nurse who lived upstairs. I liked her. She had a strong body, medium tall and fair looking, She sometimes wore cowboy or girl boots and she had big Ford T-bird with cattle horns strapped on the hood. She sat with us now and then and could hold her own with any man. I did some plaster, paint and handyman work for her in her apartment. I quite liked her. But she liked he-men, one of who was in the apartment one morning I started work, that she had picked up in a bar the night before.
