The Unconscious or Spiritual Ego may be material in nature or it may be spiritual. For materialists the Material Ego or Memory Self will be material. If one assumes spirituality, whether the Material Ego is material or spiritual may not be of import. Assuming the possession of a Spiritual Ego in the material world, it could probably be stated to be a definite element of the Unconscious. The premise accepted here is that the Material Ego may be transitory and dies with the body. The Spiritual Ego would exist in the subconscious and may or may not be discovered, by the Material Ego. If the Spiritual Ego is discovered, then the egos may work in conjunction, one overtly and the other covertly.

The Spiritual Ego may have a larger perspective, a sense of future and to what purpose the Material Ego should aspire as the human personality. However the theory would further specify that if the Material Ego were aware and had a certainty of the knowledge that the Spiritual Ego might possess, it may have no useful existence. If the Material Ego were ruled by the Spiritual Ego with an altogether non-material agenda, it would in fact negate the validity of the existence of the Material Ego in the physical world. The Material Ego would be an automaton of the Spiritual.

There becomes the possibility that the two archetypes expressed in the theory of Any Age Authority is that the Progressive Material Volitional Identity, the Mundane Consciousness and Material Ego might all be innate to the analytical or what is generally called left side brain, while the Conservative Spiritual Ethical Identity and the Spiritual Ego might be inherent in the right brain or artistic side, considered here to be the unconscious.
