QUICKTIME . MEDIA .
For those who think Apple computer is like American Pie, if one installs Quicktime media player, it becomes the default to the exclusion of all others and installs itself such that it is harder to remove than the Alien in the movie The Alien.QUICKTIME REMOVAL
First back Up Registry in case any problems result from the removal of Quicktime.
Go to Start / run / Enter regedit / OK BR> Registry editor / Tool Bar / Export registry file.
My Documents / File Name: / give a name like Orig Registry / Save / Go to My Documents and check to see if file is there. Should be about 30 MB if there. To reinstall or place this back go to registry and import file.Start / Settings / Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs / Uninstall Quicktime / everything.

My Computer / Local Disk C / Program Files / Delete Quicktime if there, holding shift key down for perment removal.C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data

REGISTRY REMOVAL:
Start / Run / type in regedit / highlight "My Computer" / Open Edit in tool bar / Find / type in quicktime / Find next / Right click on the QuickTime entries under Name of program only and DELETE. Use F3 to find next again. If JUMPS to folder left side Delete Folder such as Quiktime Player exe. / and maybe more than one.
Don't want to delete too much maybe. Check browser to see if Quicktime is gone and stop there.May need to install new settings in browser for default audio player. May want to install Winamp as the least corporate intrusive.
