I bought a model T racing engine and the interesting thing about it was - it had an overhead valve cam with chain drive off the crank, something that did not come into conventional engine production till
fifty years later, and now is standard with synthetic timing belts. But the crank and rod bearings were made of babbitt and no one did babbitt bearings, and it meant that I myself would have to pour new bearings or melt metal, something so far out of my league as all of it was, but what I probably would have done, if I was not army drafted out of there.
