So I made a deal with Sgt Ready that he would have the Greek Air force make me two stainless steel boxes with swinging doors on the top and each box was thirty inches long, fourteen inches high and one foot wide. I know this because I still have and just measured them. These I would bolt onto the rear sides of my motorcycle to carry my gear. I was to pull his CQ for a forgotten number of times. And he did get the boxes made and gave them to me, but at some point I wondered how I would get them to London and decided to send them home.

I got out of the army the end of March, the thirtieth I think of '67. Surebe was gone transferred to I don't remember where. He was replaced by Sgt Lifer E8. He was big heavy-set and a good-time Joe near fifty probably and just the opposite of Sgt. Surebe and smoked a cigar when convenient. He drove a big white Cadillac he had shipped from New York and he had an educated wife. He drove me out one-time to some obscure army outpost where we went to the PX bar and had drinks. This he said was more like the army he had joined and enlisted for. He was a good guy and he liked me.

Some days before the end I packed up all my military stuff and everything I would not be taking with me to London where I still planned to go and buy a cycle in those stainless steel boxes and sent them home to Illinois. But I still process out by going up to HQs up on the mountain and Mr Willer was gone retired or transferred with some new gung ho warrant officer in his place.
