The Ego and Identity as Interpretive Personification represents two contexts for interpretation, which is essentially a duality of perspective, that might be inherent to the nature of cognizance. The location of the Ego and Identities is the memory or Negative Dimension along with the Thinking-I. The Ego is said to be of the province of the Aware-I and Positive Dimension, and the Identity is said to be the province of the Metaphysical-I and Metaphysical Dimension. The Thinking-I as the thinker is independent of the Ego and Identities. The Thinking-I views and interprets the world primarily through these two contexts: like through the Ego blood may be interpreted with trepidation and queasiness, while through the Identity of a doctor or warrior, blood may be interpreted as life or death. Thus the psychology of the Ego and Identity or multible identities, may be the relationship of the two: as in correspondence with each other, in conflict and antithetical to each other, or some degree in between.

The Ego is developed first as the natural process of the growth and development of the organism or body. Every child has an Ego, as it could be said of every animal that makes decisions. The animal may choose to fight or not, depending on the assessment of success, which is based on size and strength of the opponent and success in the past. The animal Ego is the decision-making process, through capacities of the physical animal being, as the cat may choose to fight another cat but not a racoon. However with animals there is no ability to develop Identities, since this capacity requires the ability to adopt mental constructs and personas independent of one's Ego Archetype. The archetype of Ego absent Identity can be explained as those attributes that all living decision-making entities share in common, such as the senses, pain, sex, hunger, thirst and various urges. Every living entity would be expected to interpret the sight of an oasis in the desert in a similar way, as the need for water.

For humans the Identity is developed at a later stage and after the development of the Ego, as what do you want to be when you grow up? The creation of Identity requires a constructed associative personification which may or may not correspond to the Ego. This construct includes attributes of Identity, such as cultural inculcations like name, race, religion, profession, or that which dictates the activity and behavior of the individual by second-hand vicarious learning from others, as opposed to the real and actual experience of the individual, in the real world. The Identity is based on the capacity of choice and volition, and is developed based on things like objectives, necessities, wishes, motives, emotions or inferiorities.
