These trucks were fairly silent although sometimes they would honk to warn me and the thing was - the wheels were about as tall as myself seated on the scooter and came silently rolling along - the front tires - the rear cab wheels, and then a second set of those, then a break, all the time I leaning, holding it on that narrow lane so close, that one could reach out a hand and touch truck, and then the long space and the rear trailer wheels, and then a second set. But then you were all set to relax and begin to lean back out into the road, when a second trailer would come suddenly rolling along. That second trailer they were in the habit of running over there, would come floating by and holy hex. Then a space then again a second set of rear trailer wheels came rolling along, and at last one could relax and lean out into the road free.
And I had problems in England where they drive on the left side of the road. I was OK most of the time, but sometimes I would make a U turn and forget, and start down the wrong side of the street, which of course was the right side everywhere else. The only time I almost crashed into someone, I made my U turn heading up a hill on the wrong side, and an English copper came over the peak, and we almost collided head-on. He knew instantly I was a tourist and gave me a - O it's hopeless look, and continued on his way shaking his head.
