For the individual this equates to the development of inherent characteristics such as natural talents to things like math, music or sports. For the TC the emphasis is upon interior personal development and not necessarily the display of external models such as wealth, power, possessions, or superior status. For the Progressive, development is based upon models independent of inherent traits. A Japanese Bonsai tree is developed based on a model independent of its natural propensities. In terms of human aspirations, these models may
be independent of the individual's capacity for them. In modern
culture all woman may be expected to look like dolls or be skinny in specific milieu. Men may be expected to exhibit toughness and bravado or to be successful. With modern day capitalism, the emphasis is to produce and sell to the masses, consumer products based on the concept of models that are not necessarily compatible with the intrinsic character of the individual such as a specific diet or entry into the stock market.
The True Conservative is an individualist, but is capable of cooperating with others. Cooperation is necessary for society to function in any form no matter how small or large. The problem is that cooperation can be difficult with progressives, small minded and ignorant people or people who use group cooperation for their own self-promotion and gratification.
For the TC the object of cooperation is the cooperative objective and not the personal glorification of the individual. Cooperative effort is to accomplish objectives cooperatively. A school system is a cooperative effort of the staff to educate
young people. For the TC as an administrator, teacher or staff, the objective is to provide the best education possible. The pre-existent state is the truth, facts, and evidence as it is best known. The corruption of education is when exterior ideology dictates what is the content of education such as the teaching of history must conform to specific political objectives of the state. Most organizations serve the purposes of objectives. The pre-existent state is the creation of stated objective as the ends in themselves. When those ends are subverted for purposes other those stated, such as the specific benefit of a few of its members, these ends are exterior to the purpose of the organization.
