The Detached state
of consciousness would be considered to follow and lie between
Symbolic Consciousness and the state of Enlightenment. The state of Detachment is when a Spiritual Identity is recognized by the individual separate from the material physical self, so that every necessity, duty circumstance, feelings and emotions of the physical body
and mind is not necessarily considered as the true self,
and thus one does not automatically take life so serious,
but rather views it as a tourist might, both in it but
outside of it at the same time. One chooses to become engaged in reality and to what degree. And if one does, one may do it for the enjoyment of it or for the responsibility that one might feel toward one's supporting reality.

What is considered by most, especially in eastern spirituality and religion like Buddhism, to be the ultimate in states of awareness or consciousness, and the most difficult to achieve and even more-so to sustain, is what is called Enlightenment. The state of Enlightenment might be like when all identity and all value comparatives and oppositions are gone, such that one experiences reality primarily from an aesthetic perspective or what could be called pure experience.
