So while I am waiting, we start talking about cars and I was telling him stories I used to hear while growing up, like the three hundred mile a gallon carburetor. I had heard this story many times, but I was shocked when he said that he was actually there. He was working for a dealership in the Bay Area as a mechanic. This guy had just bought a brand new Cadillac and brought it back about a week later. He says, "This car is amazing. I just drove to Los Angeles and back and it gets three-hundred miles to the gallon."
So someone called the owner of the dealership who hurries in and says, "Three hundred miles - that is pretty amazing". So I says to the dealer, Let's put it in the shop, pull that carb and take a look at it. But the dealer says, "No we better not. Let me call Detroit." So he comes back after a bit and says to the Cadillac owner,"'We need that car back. We will give you another one off the showroom floor immediately." So I says he says com'on, lets just take a quick peek at that carburetor, but the dealer didn't want to fool with it. Said "They are coming to pick it up'".
So that is the story of the three-hundred mile per gallon carburetor. His diagnosis of my battery was that it was no good. I paid him my seven bucks. Didn't exactly trust him so I took it to another place and they put a gage on it no charge, and agreed it was no good. So I asked him would it need to be charged first and they said no you got took,
