This may be accomplished by a technique mentioned by for instance Gurdjieff, as a process called Self Remembering. This method is mentioned this site, in the section called External Analysis, as a means to change one's behavior, by in the first instance remembering to watch oneself. However this method may also be used to simply become more aware of reality. One of course thinks and may enjoy thinking immensely. The technique is simply to remember to stop thinking and take a look around, notice one's circumstances and environment. One may discover they are in a beautiful place, the beauty of which may be of the most ordinary character, but even so, could not be purchased for all the money in the world, for the simple reason, that it takes more than money.
