And then we discovered the concept of one-ski skiing, and the hop-hop off the beach on one foot holding the one ski in the air, until speed enough to skim-top the water-ski and place the loose foot behind - in this case my right foot - and in affect was two leg skiing.

Getting up overhead deep was also easier once one got the concept of both feet on the one ski, since it was easier to swim with only one foot attached to one ski, and soon just for macho we exclusivity skied one-ski.

And the dismount was swing in toward the beach, drop the line and coast right to the shore edge, and step off the ski just as it made dry sand.

And before long I my brother and friends were skiing fully dressed, bare feet with pant legs rolled up - the object to complete a ski run without getting wet.

A class mate lived across the lake originally from Chicago - had a Chris Craft outboard and in a fit of show-off, we both racing our boats in the middle of the lake at full throttle, drove straight at each other turning at the last minute. Trouble was we both turned the same way and ended up hitting bottoms turned up on sharp turn. My damage was slight and his boat being wood was unmarked.

And the time when I had my boat on the beach shore-front at the house, propped side-up washing the bottom, when a skier friend of Chris Craft in tow - came skimming in for a landing - flying in too fast too debark his skis in a gentlemanly fashion.
