All aspects of the human social condition will have to be regulated
based not on progressive expansion, but upon a fixed and stable economic
status quo. Population will have to be regulated, and fixed limits will
have to placed upon its expansion. Economic standards of living will have
to become frozen to fixed levels. All economic institutions will have to become non-profit and non-expansive.
The emphasis on individuality and the incentives of self-interest will have to
be replaced with an emphasis upon the social and ecological good of the whole. A non-materialist philosophy and consciousness will have to replace the present antagonistic bipolar economic, religious, cultural and nationalistic dichotomies. A Conservative philosophy and context for living will have to replace the Progressive.
In terms of the individual, one cannot be responsible for the misguidance
of others especially when it is so ensconced in the modern human psyche.
In any case, living a life based upon the negative, no matter how patently
clear it may seem, is depressive and no way to live. One can at the very least contribute as little as possible to the problem and thus have a clear conscience. Or one can contribute to an effort to avert the problem whatever that may be. If doing what one can do as a serious effort is all that can be
done, then one is free of blame and there is some self-satisfaction and pride, and one can feel great about that.
